The start of our journey

Not very exciting so far. We left Philo at 1:30, dropped my car for work while we're gone, drove to Santa Rosa to the Apple store and ended up with an iPad. I thought I might get a MacBook air, but I liked the keyboard on the iPad just fine and am now happily typing away.

I wish I had a photo to post, but we arrived in Heathrow, caught a bus to Luton where our flight to Tel Aviv leaves tomorrow am. It's raining now, but the cute Victorian where we are staying has what looks to be a decent restaurant - anything is better than airplane food. So for now, we're so happy to be horizontal, and soon to be well fed too.

When we left yesterday I printed out our hotel confirmation for Jerusalem and only then noticed that they had us arriving on December 6! OK, so I did the date wrong and wrote 11/6, but how did they get 12/6 from that, or 6/12' I should say? So hard to remember the convention of puttinging the day first. Perhaps the US should switch. luckily, they do have a room for us. gotta take this up with the mgr as clearly their fault, but he writes back, you're in luck!
