Yep, it's the 1st of February already. I'm just about finished with a little quiltlet for a raffle at Handley Art in the Cellars, opening tomorrow for local yocals and continuing through the weekend. The raffle prizes are donated by the artists who show their work at this event and the proceeds go to AVArts. AVArts is a local nonprofit dedicated to supplementing art in the schools, sponsoring scholarships and bringing art into the community whenever possible. I'm showing three of my quilts, 2 of which use photo transfer for the fabric. Below is the raffle donation, which was a photo printed on fabric which did't make it into the larger quilt, Yorkville Shack.
This is the larger quilt, with many views of the Shack. It's probably the most photographed scene on 128, particularly in the Yorkville area, and really, there are a lot of photogenic scenes in Anderson Valley, but this is somewhat unique. I always imagine that regular summer visitors wonder to themselves when they head our way, whether it's fallen down yet. I took a new photo recently and I'm amazed it is STILL standing. I may not be done with it yet. I intend to keep up with its decomposition.
